My second custom action figure - a Marvel Legends-style Daredevil! Matt Murdock has never really gotten the definitive figure treatment in my opinion. There’s always parts of each DD figure that I like (body sculpt, head sculpt, paint job, etc.) but never one that looks just right. Well, you know what they say: if you want something done right you’ve got to do it yourself! ;)
The base figure is a Marvel Legends Urban Legends Daredevil. It’s the perfect DD build and color scheme. The gloves, boots, and head are “blah”, though, so I replaced all three with the head, gloves, and boots from a Marvel Legends Face-Off Daredevil. The gloves and boots have that weathered, leathery look which I love because, well, gloves, boots, and spandex are not going to be the same color red lol! Clothing doesn’t exactly work that way. As for the head sculpt it’s perfect. It’s the paint job that needed to be re-done. It was just way too bright red! Mixing Model Master Acrylic colors Earth Red and Insignia Red I was able to produce the right deep red to brush over the head and blend the colors so that the mask and body looked seamless!
I had fun coming up with this one. It’s simple but striking and it looks better than any of the DD figures on the market!
My next custom figure? A Christopher Reeve Superman! Stay tuned! :)
